Bude Folk Club

Welcome to the Bude Folk Club Website, where you can meet our regulars,find out when we meet and see what we get up to down here in Sunny Cornwall, UK.

The Bude Folk Club meets at The Falcon Hotel, Bude,in North Cornwall, on roughly alternate Sundays throughout the year at 8pm.

Membership is free, but you do need to fill in a form - ask for one when you visit. This helps us keep in touch, should things change at short notice, assists us in mailing out information, when needed, and gets you £1.00 off our entry charges when we have a visiting guest artist .As a member you may also, on occasion, be asked to MC a club night or supply a raffle prize.

Entry on club nights is free, but we do run a raffle at each meeting to help pay for our occasional visiting guests, when we can afford them. We welcome both members and visitors to share Music, Song, Stories and on occasion Dances.

The Club is accoustic only and welcomes all abilites - we all had to start somewhere. Emphasis is on participation and enjoyment and we are not bothered if you need your words or music to help you along.

Bude Folk Club at The Falcon evolved out of a growing need for a folk club in the area. Previous Clubs at The Tree Inn in Stratton and The Globe in Bude, had, for various reasons ceased to be, leaving a relatively large folk community in the area with nowehere to go and meet to play and sing etc on a regular basis. Initially it started as a means to get interest and support up and running for the First Bude and Stratton Folk Festival held in 2007, but it was so successful it was decided to keep it going and it seems to be going from strength to strength.

It is a really friendly club and it has been a delight to see in its first year, members who started coming - just to listen - flourish into singers and musicians and grow in confidence and ability. Long may it continue!
